This is the secular version of Our Whole Lives for Grades 10-12, free of specific religious doctrine or reference. However, the underlying values of the program reflect the justice-oriented traditions of both denominations. It embodies the values of Self-Worth, Responsibility, Sexual Health, and Justice and Inclusivity. It is inclusive of diverse identities and abilities and is informed by the National Sexuality Education Standards, 2nd Edition. The UU and UCC editions offer all of the content that is in the secular edition, along with supplementary faith-based content. Sexuality and Our Faith will no longer be published as a separate supplement for Our Whole Lives.
Our Whole Lives: Sexuality Education for Grades 10-12, 2nd Edition helps teens acquire information and skills while they gain confidence in their ability to make decisions aligned with their values and life goals.
This edition provides twelve ninety-minute workshops that provide developmentally appropriate, comprehensive sexuality education on topics including values, sexual health and pleasure, body image, gender identity, sexual attraction, healthy relationships, consent, and in-person and online communication. This curriculum is interactive and conducive to group trust building, respectful communication, and compassion. It includes facilitation tips and a robust Resources section.
This new edition of Our Whole Lives for Grades 10 -12 is packaged as three-hole-punched loose-leaf pages so that updates can be provided as replacement pages. The package comes with front cover, spine, and back cover inserts for a binder with slip pockets. To inquire about page updates please email owl@uua.org. The Avery binder #05710 is a good size for holding these pages and can be ordered here. This and other binder brands can be found at most office supply stores.
